A light heavyweight match-up is expected to take place at UFC 110 in Sydney, Australia next February when former Ultimate Fighter alums Stephan Bonnar (11-6) takes on Krzysztof Soszynski (18-9-1) for the promotion’s first ever trip down under.

MMAWeekly.com reports that sources close to the UFC say that both fighters have verbally agreed to the contest and will be signing off on bout agreements shortly after.

Stephan Bonnar who is a key component to the UFC being relevant in the US once again with his memorable fight with Forrest Griffin in the first season of The Ultimate Fighter back in 2005 has lost his last two bouts inside the Octagon since returning from a knee injury last year with losses to the ultra talented Jon Jones at UFC 94 this past January and a unanimous decision defeat at the hands of current UFC hall of famer Mark Coleman at UFC 100 in the month of July and is now in a big need of a win in order to remain relevant in the promotion’s light heavyweight division.

Meanwhile Krzysztof Soszynski who was a contestant on season 8 of TUF was a winner in his first three fights with the UFC with wins over the likes of Shane Primm, former WEC light heavyweight champion Brian Stann and Andre Gusmao. But, in his last fight at UFC 102 this past August he was on the losing end of a unanimous decision to Brandon Vera and will now be going back to the drawing board for a new gameplan for Stephan Bonnar to get back on the winning track.

UFC 110 is expected to have the middleweight debut of Wanderlei Silva as he takes on Japanese judoka Yoshihiro Akiyama as the potential main event of the evening.
