Fedor Emelianenko once again survived past a brutal opening to a fight only to finish off a fighter it looked like would finally defeat him. Brett Rogers opened up Fedor Emelianenko’s nose and broke it with a jab after the first minute of the first round of their fight and it seemed like the advantage belonged to “The Grim”.

Fedor landed a few big punches and got Rogers on his back and attempted a Kimura which was unsuccessful. Rogers stood up with Fedor on his back and began to lay down big punches that seemed to have Fedor in trouble. But, some how Fedor put Rogers in a armbar attempt and avoided the big shots from the top. Fedor ended the first round in top position, but Rogers had won the mental war in the opening round.

In the second round both fighters started off against the cage and exchanged blows. Fedor threw a flurry which Rogers blocked and they battled against the cage again.

When the fighters separated Fedor threw a big overhand right which landed flish on Roger’s jaw and dropped him like a deck of card. Fedor followed up with a few punches and referee “Big” John McCarthy stopped the fight at a minute and :48 seconds of the second round.

Fedor once again escaped early trouble to land one big punch and solidify his place as the best fighter in the heavyweight division, if not all of MMA.

only hole in fedors game i seen was his clinch agianst the cage. i think he needs a bit more experience in the cage b4 fighting brock (if it ever happens)

awesome fight, so much raw power from Fedor, and his punches are quick.

the only thing i don’t like, is how the fight ended. looks like anybody who is anybody could just walk into the ring after the fight, even though Roger is still be attended to.
