WEC Featherweight champion Mike Thomas Brown tells USA Today that he wants to fight Jose Aldo because he is the guy who has been “Smashing everybody.” Brown says beating Aldo will only add to his legacy and cement his spot as the best fighter in his division.

“Because he was the guy that’s been smashing everybody. That’s what I want — big fights. I want fights that people care about, and I want the guys that look unstoppable.

To me, all these world-class fighters are tough, and you never know what’s going to happen with any of them. So I’d rather fight the guys who look amazing, because those are the fights you’re going to get the most out of. The fans are going to care the most, and when you win, it’s going to be that much bigger.

If you beat a guy who’s tough but hasn’t been looking really sharp lately, people are like, “Eh, who cares?” But if you beat a guy like Aldo, everybody’s like, “Whoa.” Same with Urijah. Everybody thought Urijah was unstoppable; Urijah’s another tough fighter. All these world-class fighters are tough, so I’d rather fight the best ones.”

We know that Brown may also face the winner of the Urijah Faber vs Rafael Assuncao fight at WEC 46, so he will have his selection of top fighters to build his resume if he gets passed Aldo at WEC 44 next week.

Call me crazy, but I’m really looking forward to seeing Swick/Hardy. That should be pretty exciting.

ya know, i gotta say, I like Swick because of his training part-a-ners. But I also would like to see Hardy shut him up, and bust out of the Swick-a-conda and knock him out.

  Actually Aldo and Brown have good ground games if it does go to the ground the small guys always get up fast and fight at a fast pace so it should be great
