Earlier today in Manchester, England in the U.K. current UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre was on hand for a UFC 105 pre-fight press conference the French-Canadian talked about a certain topic that he may still have a big interest in which is to potentially compete in the 2012 Olympic games in London.
St-Pierre who was getting ready to go to the Olympic trials in late 2007 had those plans change on him as he took a fight inside the Octagon to face Matt Hughes for the interim welterweight championship in December of that year for UFC 79, but still has the desire to still compete in the Olympics even though he is aware that it is a very tough process to go through in order to make it to the games.
However, if that is what St-Pierre chooses to do he has the blessings of UFC President Dana White.
Should St-Pierre compete in the 2012 Olympics it is likely that he would compete for the wrestling team for Canada despite not having a background in the sport or any experience academically, he is by far the best wrestler in MMA today, but still the decision is up to him.
Fan Question: Will Georges St-Pierre be competing in the 2012 Olympic Games in London, England?

I hope so. But in what? Boxing? Wrestling? Both? I think he could win a medal in wrestling.

If anyone beats him at wrestling the UFC should sign them asap cause GSP has the best wrestling in the business
Before he fought Hughes the second time he was wrestling with the Candian national team so it has to be wrstling
