Anthony Johnson is a star on the rise in the welterweight division and he is coming into his fight against Josh Koscheck at UFC 106 for the biggest test of his career. But that does not shake “Rumbles” confidence he is coming into his fight against the veteran confident and looking for the knockout.
Johnson spoke about his bad intentions for the more experienced Josh Koscheck at UFC 106 in a recent preview for the event.
Johnson is coming off of a knockout win by punches at UFC 104 against Yoshiyuki “Zenko” Yoshida in only :41 seconds. The win was his third straight by knockout and his fifth overall in the UFC. Johnson says that is a streak he intends to continue at against Koscheck at UFC 106.
“I always give it my all every fight and get the knockout sooner or later. I’m going to have a even more devastating knockout with this fight then I did in my last fight. I want to continue my knockout streak and just be the best UFC fighter ever. If I have to keep doing that and knockout people to get that title I’ll do it. I got a left fist and a right fist that will knockout anybody, if he wants to test my fist with his face. It will be my pleasure.”Johnson’s biggest concern will be Koscheck’s takedowns and ability to negate his striking, but a fact that is often overlooked is that he also wrestled in college. Johnson have a slight advantage standing because of his reach and if he intends to use it he will need to use his sprawl as much as possible in this fight.
Even while standing Johnson will also have to be cautious because Koscheck’s striking has improved leaps and bounds since he entered the UFC. Koscheck has a good straight punch and also has heavy hands which always makes his hooks deadly.
This will be Johnson’s biggest test so his best bet would be to use his size and reach advantage against Koscheck and slowly pick him apart.

I can’t wait for this fight. I like Kos, but I think AJ is too much. It will be a big test for Kos.
