UFC president Dana White has been hard at work trying to fix the promotion’s current lineup of upcoming cards for the rest of 2009 and the beginning of 2010. With Anderson Silva, Brock Lesnar and Lyoto Machida all out and unable to defend their titles, Dana doesn’t have a easy job ahead of him.
In a recent interview on MMAJunkie Radio Dana White spoke about reshuffling the UFC 110 card where they will make their Australian debut. White spoke about the possibility of changing the Wanderlei Silva vs Yoshihiro Akiyama fight to another date.
“All I said is that might change,” White said. “That’s my groundbreaking info on that fight. That one might change. We’re moving some things around and doing some stuff.”When asked at the UFC 106 Q&A session if St.Pierre will defend his title against Dan Hardy at UFC 109 on February 6, Dana replied that the date is being saved for Anderson Silva’s return title fight against Vitor Belfort.
While we are only speculating, this could mean we may also see the Shane Carwin vs Cain Velasquez interim title fight pushed back to March. Yesterday we found out that Carwin may not be able to make the UFC 109 fight date because his wife was expecting the birth of a child around the same time.
We hope all these plans finally go down without a hitch, because the past few weeks have been terrible for matchmaking.
GSP is going to kill Hardy they should get it over with much sooner cause Anderson doesnt sound like he is going to fight at 109
