One fighter that has been missing from the UFC middleweight picture over the last year is Patrick ‘The Predator’ Cote who injured his knee in his last fight for the 185 pound championship against Anderson Silva last October at UFC 90 and has been on the comeback trail since that time. However, Cote who is close to making a return to the Octagon once again is looking to face the best in the weight class right away which also includes ‘The Spider’.
In a recent interview with MMAWeekly.com Cote who will get cleared to fight as soon as April or May of 2010 says that he wants top competition in the UFC middleweight division and justs wants to bang.
Speaking of Michael Bisping, Cote has put up a message on his Facebook page saying that he was to face ‘The Count’ in his first fight back, but cleared it up by adding that it was just wishful thinking on his part.
However, Cote says that the decision will still be on the organization’s part in the end, but puts the main focus on his full recovery.
Still, when asked about a rematch with Anderson Silva down the line, Cote does not have any regrets from their first encounter, but says that despite Silva being one of a kind adds that it would be a much different fight.
Fan Question: Who will be the first opponent for Patrick Cote’s Octagon return?
He beat Leben so we wont see that maybe Belcher or someone who likes to swing

I would like to see Cote vs Wandy instead of Bisping.

yeah i see cote facing belcher, and losing a good striking brawl. i think cote needs a reality check. his sloppy haymaker will only take him so far.
