I am sure you have heard there is a possibility that Golden Boy Boxing promotions is looking to book one of Boxing’s biggest fights in history between Manny Pasquiao vs Floyd Mayweather, may go down on May 1, 2010.

The Telegraph is reporting that the fight is in the works for the date, which just so happens to be the same projected date for UFC 113.

UFC 104 Machida vs Shogun 2The main event fight would feature a big rematch between Lyoto Machida vs Mauricio Shogun Rua for the light heavyweight title, but could easily be eclipsed by one of Boxing’s biggest fights ever.

We all know that Machida and Shogun’s rematch would probably do solid ticket and pay-per-view sales, but Paquiao vs Mayweather is projected to make a run at the record for over sales of a event. The current record is currently held by the Oscar De La Hoya vs Floyd Mayweather fight from 2007, which sold 2,44 million pay-per-views. To put things into prospective, UFC 100 is rumored to have sold some where between 1.5 to 1.7 million pay-per-views.

This fight is going to be a monster and if (and I really stress the word “if”) it happens on May 1, should the UFC delay the show to a future date?

I think if the UFC would want to screw Boxing they should get their TV deal just for this fight. Even if they put this on Spike, it would get crushed and not do as well.

I am saying this as a realist, the UFC would need Brock Lesnar vs Carwin or Cain to have this sell tickets.

stay away from pacman vs pretty boy. Dont go head to head with them, we are gonna lose. Let them hav it. the key here is, the best way for mma to beat boxing (which i really dont think there is a need for it) is to let them beat themselves, pacman vs pretty boy is all they have got, after this fight they’ve got nothing, honestly they are done after that. let them have it, we are only gonna worry about ourselves

I know Dana and there are two ways he is going to do this

1 pretend it won’t hurt 113 be a dick curse and act like it will sell

2 Put Anderson Silva, Gsp or Bj on

3 watch never back down on Dvd and put it on spike

4 blame scheduling and put it on a week before

I think they should move it, but Dana is too pig headed to move it. Then when its all said and done he’ll claim that UFC beat May/Pac out with PPV buys.

If UFC does go head to head, there needs to be AT LEAST two (2) title fights on 113. In addition with some HUGE undercard fights.
