Earlier today at a joint press conference in Tokyo, Japan showed both World Victory Road and DREAM have officially announced their partnership for this New Year’s Eve in order to help further promote the 2009 Fields Dynamite!! event from the Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan.
During the press conference both promotions have agreed to hold five to seven match-ups featuring a theme of bouts having DREAM’s fighters taking on Sengoku’s best in the process.
However, there have been no concrete plans as to who will be facing who in the cross promoted fight card, but with the extravaganza holding 19 bouts that also include K-1 Kickboxing fights will more than likely have champions facing champions, but that is also up in the air as well.
WVR initially canceled their Sengoku Raiden Championship event at the Ariake Colosseum in Tokyo which was also set for New Year’s Eve leading the media to believe that Sengoku was going under as a promotion, but according to WVR head official Sumio Inamura that assumption is farthest from the truth.
Once both promotions have made further announcement as to whom will be participating, but we will keep you informed in the coming days and weeks to come leading to the event.
