UFC 106 Forrest Tito

Last Saturday night in the UFC 106 main event former light heavyweight champion Forrest Griffin evened up the score with Tito Ortiz by gaining a split decision victory to snap a two fight losing streak and potentially facing a rubber match with ‘The Huntington Beach Bad Boy’ in the forseeable. And although the decision could have gone either way just like their first encounter at UFC 59 back in April of 2006, Griffin believes that he won this fight and does not envy the judges decision.

In a recent interview with TapouT Radio who is a partner for MMAWeekly.com Griffin sticks to his word saying that he won the fight against Ortiz and adds that fighting is a lot easier than judging or reffing a fight in MMA.

“Judging is hard. I’ll give them a pass,” said “The Ultimate Fighter” season 1 winner. “I think fighting is easier than judging or refereeing.”

However, following the fight during the post-fight interviews with Joe Rogan it was Ortiz making excuses that he was injured coming into the fight where he actually said that he fought with a “cracked skull” (even though it was not listed on the medical suspension list by the Nevada State Athletic Commission), but when asked about that Griffin said that he fought with a few injuries of his own, but it did not seem to bother him.

“I thought it was kind of funny because I was banged up too and I wasn’t real happy with my performance. I actually went over and tried to like bail him out a little bit and he wouldn’t even take it,” added the 30-year-old fighter. “I was like, ‘oh well, you do get banged up when you’re training.’ I was like trying to help him out a little bit there.”

Griffin always in need of getting back into the gym to work and train says that he is ready for another fight whoever it may be, but must be cleared by the doctors to resume training as he must get clearance from a doctor and an x-ray done on his injured foot to move forward.

But, the big question is what will be in store for the original Ultimate Fighter for a next opponent?
