With the Ultimate Fighting Championship recently bringing in heavyweight Rolles Gracie into the fold the organization has also officially brought in his cousin Renzo Gracie into the fold as rumors have been speculating for months prior to his signing which now becomes a reality.

In a video interview in New York City with Brazilian reporter Paula Sack of Combate.com Renzo Gracie has signed on with the UFC at the age of 42 and will make his Octagon debut at some point in 2010.

Sporting a career Mixed Martial Arts record of 13-6-1, Renzo has notable victories over the likes of former UFC welterweight champions Carlos Newton and Pat Miletich to go along with a disqualification win over Frank Shamrock at the first ever EliteXC event back in February of 2007 which also happened to be his last fight at the time as now further rumors are speculating that his first opponent in the organization may very well be against another former welterweight champion in Matt Hughes who said earlier this week that his next fight will be in April 10, 2010 for UFC 112.

However, the UFC has said that is a fight they would like to see, but may not have for Renzo’s debut fight, but fellow UFC welterweight Matt Brown has also thrown his name in the mix asking for the fight with UFC matchmaker Joe Silva.

But as of right now, Renzo has been training with his cousin Rolles Gracie who will be making his own Octagon debut at UFC 109 facing Mostapha Al-Turk in February.

So, in 2010 MMA fans will be seeing a pair of Gracies fighting in the UFC once again.
