In a interview with Terra Magazine that our friends over at BrasilCombate.com.Br translated, Vitor Belfort confirms the UFC has not contacted him about fighting Nate Marquardt. He also says he does not know if Anderson Silva is officially out for UFC 109, or who he will be fighting next.

“Look, as far as I know the UFC still didn’t give me any opponent ,but Marquardt would be a good one. They still didn’t talk to me. Nobody got through to me so far. But if this rumor is sounding off that’s because it must be serious. I think Nate is an excellent athlete. He has good takedowns, is a strong guy and strikes well too. It’s a good fight to raise my name in this category.”

It looks like we are going to wait a little longer for a Belfort to finally get a official opponent, but February 6, is only two months away. So I do not expect we will wait much longer for a official announcement.
