Dan Henderson's first fight for StrikeForce will be against Jake Shields or Gegard Mousasi in early 2010 | read this item

It looks like fans will get their wish for Dan Henderson’s StrikeForce debut and he will challenge for a title right away. Scott Coker broke the news that Henderson’s first opponent will be one of two StrikeForce champion.

Coker spoke to Michael David Smith of Fanhouse.com, who wrote on his Twitter account about potential middleweight or light heavyweight title fights for Henderson.

“Scott Coker told me Dan Henderson will next fight in the second quarter of 2010 vs Jake Shields or Gegard Mousasi.”

I personally would like to see him fight Shields first because they are similar in their styles, but I also feel that it could make for a boring style matchup. Gegard Mousasi is not going to get too many other chances at a legitimate top 10 fighter at 205 with StrikeForce, but Muhammed “King Mo” Lawal could be his only competition if he does not face Henderson.

I will keep you up to date as usual on any new information that comes our way on Henderson’s first opponent as soon as I find some.
