Last week we reported to you that the Floyd Mayweather vs Manny Pacquiao Boxing “Super Fight” was being targeted for the same date on May 1, as UFC 113. The UFC would feature the Lyoto Machida vs Mauricio Shogun Rua rematch, but the date of the Mayweather vs Pacquiao fight has changed since then. Due to Manny Pacquiao’s run for election in the Philippines, the fight was moved to March 13, 2010.

While the UFC has been rumored to be hosting a show in March in New Jersey, do not expect them to book a show on the same date. White confirmed on Twitter that he does not intend to book a event for the UFC, because he intends to watch the fight live.

“The UFC and pac man vs mayweather will not be the same night. I am pumped for that fight and will be there for that one!!!”

White also said that he feels Floyd Mayweather’s size and speed will be too much for the Fillipino star.

“I am a HUGE pac man and roach fan but I think floyds boxing, speed and size are to much.”

In a poll we conducted on URDirt.com, we asked our audience if the UFC should book a event for the same day as the Mayweather vs Pacquiao Super Fight. A overwhelming 65% of our fans felt that the UFC should change their date, when we asked about booking a event on the same day as their fight (May 1, at the time).

It looks like a majority of MMA fans and Dana White finally agreed on a issue.
