Back in the month of September at DREAM 11 it was Shinya Aoki who defeated Joachim Hansen to become the new lightweight champion of the promotion which would set-up a title fight for Dynamite!! 2009 with Aoki facing Tatsuya Kawajiri for the belt and although both fighters will be competing on the card, it will not be against one another.
At a press conference in Japan, DREAM parent company Fight and Entertainment Group (FEG) announced two more “DREAM vs Sengoku” type matchups as Shinya Aoki will be facing Mizuto Hirota and Tatsuya Kawajiri will take on Kazunori Yokota who are both lightweights from Sengoku.
The card is beginning to stack up, but it also appears there will be no titles on the line for the upcoming New Year’s Eve blockbuster event from the Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan.
However, the fight card is more than likely far from set as the event is still expected to have a total of 19 bouts between DREAM, Sengoku and K-1 Kickboxing fights to help ring in the new year.
