This past Saturday night Muhammed ‘King Mo’ Lawal made his StrikeForce debut at “Evolution” and gained a first round KO win over Mike Whitehead to remain unbeaten in his MMA career at 6-0. However, during his post-fight celebration Mo decided to pour down a Rockstar energy drink like former WWE pro-wrestling star ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin as the drink was all over the cage and the mat, but the antics lead him to be fined 10% percent of his purse by the California State Athletic Commission which surprised due to the fact that StrikeForce knew of his celebratory act if he had w on the fight which he did.

While speaking with MMAFanhouse.com of the situation King Mo compares this fine like the CSAC was like the National Football League for fining a player for an excessive celebration dance on a touchdown.

“Someone told me, ‘You got fined.’ I was like what? Fined by who?…I told Strikeforce. I figured that everybody knew. I think it probably had to do with the huge uproar because everybody was like, ‘Mo’s unsportsmanlike,’ and their corny a** bulls***. They don’t want to see me have fun and what not. They think this is the NFL.”

Lawal was criticized as he heard that people were accusing him of making the mat inside the cage slippery as he was very upset to hear that and added that the canvas is always slippery.

“I didn’t splash the mat with the drink. The drink exploded when I opened it because someone shook it up,” he said.
“As far as people saying, ‘Yeah, Mo got the mat slippery on purpose.’ Let me telling you something, you idiots: the canvas is slippery anyway. If I get Rockstar on the mat and it dries up, I’m doing them a f***ing favor, you know what I’m saying? It irritates me when people run their mouths and sh**. They always say the dumbest sh** ever and they don’t know sh** about what’s going on.”

Lawal also mentioned while he was in the cage that he was not allowed to jump inside the cage like any or most other fighters normally do to prepare to battle, so now it is clear that the CSAC does not like that where that has not been a problem in other commissions such as the one in Nevada.

So, in turn Lawal just got a slap on the wrist with a fine. Now just imagine if Nick Diaz who has had his troubles with the CSAC did the exact same things I wonder how he would get disciplined?
