Alan Belcher has made it his mission to petition for a fight against Anderson Silva, but still needs the consecutive to wins earn a fight against the middleweight champion. 

Alan Belcher tells FightHype.com that he is more mature then the other fighters in the middleweight division. He also says he feels Anderson Silva’s opponents are scared to bring the fight to him, especially in the standup game.

“I just think that my striking is more mature than the other guys in my division. Some guys have more experience in MMA fights or wrestling, but I think my Jiu Jitsu is up there at the top and my striking is at a different level than the other guys. I think Anderson is beating these other guys because he really knows a lot about angles and range.

I think a lot of guys go in there scared when they fight Anderson Silva. I have not seen anybody go in there and fight him standing and beat him at that game. If you take that away from him, really, what does he have?”

Belcher looked great against Wilson Gouveia and looks like a man on a mission, but he will need to put a win streak together in order to prove he can challenge Silva.

There is a long line right now to the middleweight title, but Belcher is young and always improving. He will get his chance as long as he continues to impress like he has in his last few fights.
