King Mo looking to have more Post-Fight Celebrations despite Fine

Last week following the StrikeForce “Evolution” event in San Jose, California it was reported that Muhammed ‘King Mo’ Lawal was fined 10 percent of his $20,000 fight purse by the California State Athletic Commission for his post-fight celebration during a KO victory over Mike Whitehead where he spilled a can of Rockstar Energy Drink all over the cage and the mat. And despite being very upset about it, King Mo says that there will be more post-fight celebrations to come.

During a recent interview with MMAWeekly.com radio partner over TapouT Radio Lawal feels there was nothing wrong with what he did in his last fight as he compares it to someone hitting a fighter well after the bout was stopped.

“I just celebrated. You know what I’m saying? It’s not a big deal. It’s not like I kept on hitting him after the bell rang or when the referee stepped in…Let’s keep it real. It‘s not that big of a deal.”

However, Lawal adds that the fine is not going to stop him from having fun as he plans on making some more pre-meditated post-fight antics in future fights to come in his career.

“I’m going to do something. I don’t care. They can fine me. I’m going to be doing something after every fight just for them. They created a monster by fining me, I’m just going to be creative and find ways to celebrate. If they want to fine me for the way I celebrate. That’s cool.”

King Mo makes a good point that the mat inside the cage is usually slippery as fighters have said in the past as well as him not hitting a fighter well after it has been stopped, but I am pretty sure that he will do something that does not involve an energy drink or a bottle of water, so we will see what happens in his next fight.
