We have had nothing but bad news over the past few days, due to all the injury reports that have surfaced. Now we have some really good news for you, a bout that should be a war.

MMAMania.com is reporting that former bantameweight champion Miguel Torres will return on March 6, at WEC 47 to face off against top 135lbs. contender Joseph Benavidez.

Miguel Torres (37-2) recently had his 7 year (17 win) undefeated streak snapped by a loss to Brian Bowles by Knockout (punches) at WEC 42. Torres will be looking for revenge against Bowles who will be fighting in the main event against Dominich Cruz, for the 135lbs. title.

Joseph Benavidez (11-1) bounce back with a big TKO win over Rani Yahya at WEC 45. Benavidez had his 10 fight win streak against number one contender Dominick Cruz by decision at WEC 42.

This should be a war on paper as Torres wants Bowles regardless if he defeats Cruz in the main event or not. Torres has stated on ESPN’s “MMA Live”that the title is secondary as long as he can avenge the loss to Bowles.

Joseph Benavidez will also be motivated to win this fight, because he has a shot at getting a rematch against Cruz and securing a number one contender’s role if he is victorious.

This could be a “fight of the year” candidate, so who do you got in this one?

I got Torres by what ever he wants he is too big for Benavidez and that why he didnt beat Cruz

miguel torres is the man,i dont care how good benavidez is oh whether he trains who urijah or not torres will make a pancake out of him,i cant wait to see this fight and i cant wait to meet torres himself cos out of all the fighters in wec and ufc,i just admire him especially his killer instinct
