Last night after Rashad Evans win over Thiago Silva at UFC 108, the former champion called out a “actor” who had returned to the UFC. As we all know he was talking about his adversary and opposing coach on the Ultimate Fighter season 10 Quinton Rampage Jackson.

After the fight Dana White confirmed that the former light heavyweight champions will meet up after Rampage is done shooting the “A-Team” movie, where he has a starring role as “B.A Baracus”.

UFC-108-Rashad“This fight should of happened a few weeks ago (at UFC 107), but it didn’t. I’m over it, I’m passed it, I think Rashad is too. Now it’s time to do that fight, as soon as he’s (Rampage) done with his movie.”

Rashad also spoke about his potential fight against Rampage, but said it was important to get a win under his belt coming off of a loss to Lyoto Machida in May of 2009.

“If I get the opportunitty to fight him it will be a good opportunitty to say the least. Getting back in there to back on the winning track was very important for me tonight. Being off for so long and having so many distractions and working through so many things mentally proved to be a little bit tougher then I imagined, but coming in here and sticking to the game-plan and getting a big win over a solid opponent was a big step in the right direction for me.”

Dana White also said that a May fight date is possible for the grudge match to finally take place, hinting that UFC 113 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada could host the bout.

“Were thinking probably May, that’s going to be a sick card up there.”

If Rashad and Rampage meet at UFC 113 on May 1, it should serve as a number one contenders co-main event bout for the light heavyweight title. As we all know the Lyoto Machida vs Mauricio Shogun Rua title rematch will headline the Montreal card.

With all the returning fighters coming back healthy at the right time it appears that UFC 108 was not the stacked card we expected, but it was significant in forming what looks like a packed year of fighting.

How the hell can u say rampage is gunna get fucked in the 1st round? rashad struggled to stand with thiago that was the shittiest preformance ive seen. Rampage’s takedown defence is solid, and stand up is amazing… i cant see how rashad can do much, his chins still weak n rampage will finish it.

I agree with you that Rampage is one dimensional and power happy, but Rashad couldn’t take Thiago’s hook he is not going to be able to stand up after Rampage hits him with a big hook and gets his hips into the punch.

Rampage + boxing + wrestling + takedowns +submission defense = not a one dimensional fighter!!!
example of one dimensional fighter = matt hughs, royce gracie, basically anyone that has strenght in only one area and below average or even average at most in the rest!!!
