It looks like the rumored Shane Del Rosario vs Bobby Lashley bout is off for StrikeForce “Miami”, after months of speculation.

FiveOuncesofPain.com caught up to Shane Del Rosario, who confirmed the fight was offered to him and then never finalized.

“They asked me if I wanted to do it and I said, ‘Yeah, let’s do it for sure’,” explained Del Rosario. “Then they’re like, “Alright, well we’ll get back to you”, and they got back to me and it was a no.

“But it did seem like it was going to happen at first so I was really excited. But I kind of had it in the back of my mind that it wasn’t really a good decision for his camp. They said that he already said yes and they said , “Well it’s up to you”, so we were like, ‘Alright, let’s do this!’. I don’t know if they didn’t really expect for us to say that, but you know, whatever.

“He’s a very athletic guy, so I’m sure if he’s doing well we might meet again some other time.”

StrikeForce “Miami” is set to take place on January 30, but Del Rosario was the only opponent rumored for Lashley. We hope this does not mean he will be removed from the card entirely, because that would be very disappointing.

StrikeForce has shown while they are maturing as a promotion they do have a few issues, but removing Lashley from his first scheduled fight card would be really dropping the ball.

Yeah now my strikeforce being a good company comment blows back up in my face when are they going to announce opponents for Hershel Walker and Lashley already

Damn, that really facking blows as I was really looking forward to that scrap. Shane is a Beast himself and would have been a real serious test for Lashely. Shane is just coming off of a sick Omaplata an a couple ko’s and only few more fights then Bobby, too bad, times tickin away.

They should honestly just say F it, and let King Mo and Lashley go at it, be big fight and Mo is always talking how he wants the big boys @ Hw and would be a SERIOUS test for Mo especially. Both have same amount of fights so a loss to either wouldnt/shoulnt really hurt either. I dunno, just sucks, cards getting closer an closer
