Ever since signing on with the ever expanding StrikeForce organization after months of ongoing negotiations with the UFC, former PRIDE champion Dan Henderson says that he will be facing middleweight champion Jake Shields in his StrikeForce debut in the month of April on CBS.

In this week’s webisode of MMA Live on ESPN.com, Hendo confirms that he will be facing Shields at 185 pounds and for the title.

“It will be at 185 against Jake Shields,” Henderson told “MMA Live.”

Henderson was in line for another shot at UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva following a second round devastating KO of Michael Bisping in his last fight at UFC 100 last July, but due to failed contract talks with the promotion and Dana White as Hendo’s proposed title shot was awarded to Vitor Belfort instead.

Meanwhile Jake Shields who is a former EliteXC welterweight champion, came to StrikeForce in 2009 and took on their middleweights as he became the champion this past November in a unanimous decision win over Jason ‘Mayhem’ Miller to set this fight up.

StrikeForce officials have yet to make an announcement on the title fight, but expect it to be a lock for the April event on CBS.
