There has been recent talks as to who Frank Shamrock will be facing in his return to the cage for StrikeForce in the month of May. Well, it appears that his next opponent could come in the form of Pat Miletich who has been wanting to get back into the cage for quite sometime now since joining the StrikeForce fold.
In a new interview with Fiveouncesofpain.com Miletich says that the bout has been verbally agreed upon, but now has to wait and see if Shamrock will step up to take the challenge.
Miletich and Shamrock are both pioneers of the sport as Shamrock is a former UFC middleweight champion and most recently a former StrikeForce middleweight champion as well, but is on the receiving end of a two fight losing streak with losses coming to the likes of Cung Le and Nick Diaz.
Meanwhile Miletich is the first ever UFC welterweight champion who has not fought since a second round KO win of Thomas Denny at an Adrenaline MMA back in December of 2008 and is ready to fight, but both fighters are currently free agents and are not yet signed to StrikeForce.
However, if the fight is signed for StrikeForce it will be at a catchweight as Miletich will in fact move up from his 170 pound welterweight limit to face off against ‘The Legend’.
