More news comes for the May 8, UFC 113 event as a welterweight bout is in the mix with Yoshiyuki Yoshida expected to take on Mike Guymon in Montreal, Quebec, Nevada at the event’s preliminary card.
MMAWeekly.com reports that sources close to the fight say that both participants have verbally agreed to the contest with bout agreement signings to follow soon after that.
During his current four fights stint inside the Octagon, Yoshiyuki Yoshida (11-4) has exchanged wins and losses with wins coming against the likes of War Machine and Brandon Wolff and two vicious KO defeats at the hands of Josh Koscheck and most recently to Anthony Johnson back in October at UFC 104 as the Japanese Judoka looks to get back in the win column once again.
Meanwhile Mike Guymon (11-3-1) who is a former champion of the King of the Cage promotion made his Octagon debut at UFC Fight Night 20 last month in Fairfax, Virginia and found himself on the receiving end of a first round armbar submission loss to another former KOTC champion in the young Canadian Rory MacDonald as ‘The Joker’ is now out to seek his first UFC victory at the expense of ‘Zenko’ Yoshida.
UFC 113 is expected to feature a light heavyweight champiosnhip bout in a rematch as Lyoto Machida takes on Mauricio ‘Shogun’ Rua in the main event of the evening.
