Wanderlei Silva vs Ricardo Aron

Ricardo Arona knows Wanderlei Silva very well and may be on his way to the UFC to join his fellow adversary after his knee recuperates. While Arona and Silva were rivals winning a fight a piece while fighting for PRIDE FC in Japan, he offered a few words of advice for his upcoming fight against Michael Bisping.

In a new interview with Tatame.com.br which URDirt.comtranslated, Arona says the “Axe Murderer” needs to expand his game and stop being predictable in order to be victorious at UFC 110 against Bisping.

“I think when things are going wrong in life, you need to change up some things,” said Arona.”He needs to do what I did, look at the fights outside, see the error and where it needs to improve, which is that surprising. It’s no surprise that makes you win, because when you know everything that your opponent can do is difficult and Wanderlei was very predictable as he fought many times, “notes Arona. “I think he needs to expand his weapons to be surprised, for everybody who fights him knows the way to where he needs to win and change that,” he added.”

I can not say I disagree with Arona’s statement too much, Wanderlei is a great striker and could knockout just about any fighter that steps in front of him. But Silva’s punches have always left holes in his defense that cause him to take counter punches, leading to him either knocking out his opponent or being knocked out.

In PRIDE there were never too many fighters with crisp and accurate striking with the ability to throw a straight punch, but now times have changed and fighters have began improve their striking on offense and defense.

While Bisping does not posses the best knockout power, he does have the ability to throw crisp strikes and make a slugger look bad.

This is no secret Maybe Arona should worry more about his fighting career then Wanderleis and stop being a couch fighter

Have to say, never been a fan of Arona, who seems to be doing anything to gethis name back out there an getting a 3rd fight with Wandy in the UFC. Wont go as far tosay he was overrated, but, well he’s close to it imo at least. And of course not fighting for a couple years cant be too good for the skills, whether he’s training or not as a fight is where you get the real experience from. Also as said, he’s not really sayin anythign that we all didnt already know.

Arona is not a bad fighter but in the UFC at 205 where there are only 4 or 5 good wrestlers Arona could dominate. He has top level jiu jitsu and ground game he can kick and punch better then people know too.

I think he’s still bitter he beat Silva in their second fight and the judges fucked him over royally
