Despite a loss late last month at UFC 110 down in Sydney, Australia former Ultimate Fighter alum and Octagon veteran Stephan Bonnar will be taking over the commentary duties for this Saturday night’s WEC 47 fight card from Columbus, Ohio where ‘The American Psycho’ steps in for fellow UFC fighter Frank Mir.
MMAJunkie.com reports the change being confirmed earlier today by WEC officials.
The reason for the change is due to the fact that Frank Mir is currently training for a fight with undefeated heavyweight Shane Carwin where they will battle it out for the interim heavyweight championship later this month at UFC 111 in the co-main event of the evening from Newark, New Jersey.
Meanwhile Bonnar is a very good analyst and commentator for MMA events as he has been on ESPN’s “MMA Live” as a guest from time to time and will certainly do a great job in place of Mir for Saturday night’s action on Versus with Brian Bowles defending the WEC bantamweight title for the first time against Dominick Cruz in the main event.
But once the upcoming WEC 48 card which heads to pay-per-view will once again see Frank Mir back to do the commentary duties next month from Sacramento, California with featherweight champion Jose Aldo defending his title against former champ Urijah Faber.
