There is still no conformation from the UFC about their April 17, fight card which is the worst kept secret in MMA today, but one fight you will not be seeing on the card that is set to counter program StrikeForce “Nashville” is the rumored Matt Serra vs Mike Swick bout.

Mike Swick informed MMAJunkie.com that he was indeed offered the bout, but was unable to atke the fight on short notice due to an arm injury he suffered in his loss to Paulo Thiago at UFC 109.

“[My management] knew about the situation and pretty much said I wasn’t going to be able to do it,” Swick said.

“The Ultimate Fighter” veteran recently got an MRI confirming a problem he’s dealt with since his fight with Dan Hardy this past November at UFC 105. He will consult with a specialist Monday to determine options for treatment.

“The only way I’m going to get [my arm] to where it straights out, or even close to all the way out, is most likely the surgery,” Swick said.

Swick is also in Thailand with former UFC lightweight Roger Huerta at the moment and would have only 6 weeks to turn around and fight Serra, which is not enough time to heal and train properly for the welterweight.

While this bout is off of the purposed card, URDirt.com will keep you up to date on any information that does come our way about the upcoming event as information comes our way throughout the weekend.
