Earlier today the Bellator Fighting Championships have made the pairings for the second lightweight tournament which will have the newly signed and heavily favored Roger Huerta taking on fellow newcomer Chad Hinton at Bellator FC XIII on April 8, from the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida to kick off first round action.
Other bouts to go along that evening will also have other lightweight bouts as Janne Tulirinta takes on Carey Vanier with other bouts in that bracket to go down in the following events to come.
After having his last fight dating back to September of last year with a split decision loss to Gray Maynard, Roger Huerta showed that despite his aspirations to become a big movie star in Hollywood, he still showed that he can be a very tough opponent for just about anybody as he now looks to make a run at the upstart MMA promotion as ‘El Matador’ targets a future showdown with current Bellator lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez towards the end of the season.
But that does not count out the other lightweights who have come on into the promotion as many highlight reels were pulled off the majority of last year coming from the inaugural season of the Bellator Fighting Championships, so expect to see more action in 2010 as the fight cards will now be viewed on Fox Sports Net with highlight shows to also air on NBC and Telemundo as well.
Looks like Bellator built there tourney on two good lightweights and good prospects again should be a good challenge for Huerta
